Embankment Construction on West Side of Bidadari Island Resumed

The Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has continued construction of a massive cube embankment on the northwest side of Bidadari Island, Untung Jawa Island Sub-district, South Seribu Islands.

It has been ongoing since October 18 and is targeted for completion in mid-November

Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri said the construction of the 100-meter-long embankment with a width of around 90 centimeters and a height of 1.2 meters was currently undergoing maintenance in the form of casting.

"It has been ongoing since October 18 and is targeted for completion in mid-November," he expressed, Friday (10/20).

Embankment Structures on South Side of Tidung Island Strengthened

He explained it was continued because Bidadari Island is one of the resorts in the Seribu Islands region. The work itself involved nine personnel.

Hopefully, it could protect the island's land from being eroded by sea waves or abrasion, as well as act as a barrier for the island. It could also be used by tourists to see the sunrise on the beach.

"After being casted, we'll probably continue with painting to make it look attractive and clean," he stated.
